NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office has arrested David Turner, of North Vernon, after he supposedly fled from deputies during a traffic stop.
A car was pulled over on Sunday for a violation on Whittington Drive in Country Squire Lakes. Officers say the driver took off and a vehicle chase ensued with speeds exceeding 70 mph. The suspect stopped behind a house on Stoningham Way when his car became disabled.
Deputies say the man then exited the car and tried to flee on foot, but they were able to apprehend him in a nearby creek. Methamphetamine and prescription pills were allegedly found in his possession.
Turner is facing charges of resisting law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of a controlled substance.
