COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Fire Department (CFD) responded to the scene of a Monday morning garage fire in the 2200 block of Sixth Street. Firefighters say the call came in at 5:43 am.
The blaze, which destroyed a detached garage, was extinguished and no injuries were reported.
CFD said the flames extended to a nearby utility pole causing damages to power-lines. Several homes in the area were without power. Duke energy is making repairs.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
