JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. – As the state begins a gradual reopening process during the COVID-19 crisis, Jennings County Circuit and Superior Courts plan to open on May 18, but there will be some restrictions and adjustments made to meet social distancing requirements.
Courts will be open for business as usual, with the exception of jury trials, which cannot occur until at least June 1. Spectator access will be modified so that all visitors will be at least six feet apart. Anyone entering the Jennings County Courthouse will be required to wear a mask, except when testifying.
Additionally, the courthouse security officer and judges will have the right to refuse access to the courthouse or courtrooms, if they believe that the access poses a threat to public health or safety.
