COLUMBUS, Ind. – Female inmates at the Bartholomew County Jail, who participate in the jail’s drug rehab program, recently asked for an opportunity to give back to the community. They wanted to make face masks to help during the COVID-19 crisis and have now produced them for jail inmates, jail staff, and Sam’s Club employees.
“I truly want to thank Sam’s Club and Sam’s Club employees for their support during this pandemic,” said Sheriff Matt Myers. “Sam’s Club has donated much-needed cleaning supplies to the sheriff’s office.”
Inmates have provided 120 masks to Sam’s Club and have 70 more that are nearly finished. Bartholomew County Jail is accepting donations on any fabric or elastic straps that could be used to produce more masks.
