COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Solid Waste Management District Board met Thursday and granted a landfill gate fee waiver to a group that is going to remove the remaining carpet and other debris at the Crump Theater. The volunteer group will next seek to obtain a special use of right-of-way permit, so it can park a dumpster on Third Street in front of the historic building, and begin its cleanup project.
In other business, the board renewed its contract for legal services with Jim Shoaf, who has been the board’s attorney for ten years. His fee has been increased to $600 a month.
The board also approved the addition of three new people to the Citizen’s Advisory Committee.
