COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with an expired license plate on Wednesday. Officers stopped the car near 17th and Maple Streets and spoke to the driver, Anne Lovelace, 41, of Columbus, and her passenger Kristopher Lobdell, 34, of Columbus.
A short time later, officers brought a canine to the scene who supposedly responded to the smell of drugs coming from the car. Police searched the vehicle and allegedly found a bag of methamphetamine inside.
Both Lovelace and Lobdell were taken into custody by CPD and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where they were remanded on a preliminary charge of possession of meth.
