COLUMBUS, Ind. – For the last five years, the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) has organized the “Pack-a-Patrol Car” food drive for Love Chapel and the Salvation Army.
This year, Columbus East Senior Devon Reese chose “Pack-a-Patrol Car” for his senior project. On Tuesday, Reese joined Sheriff Matt Myers, deputies, and other BCSO employees, in delivering a pickup truck and an 18-foot trailer loaded with non-perishable food items (many more than a patrol car could hold) to Love Chapel’s Food Pantry.
Devon said, “I want to thank everyone who helped make my senior project a success and everyone who gave back to families who need a little extra help this time of year.”
“Devon is a BCSO Sheriff’s Youth Academy graduate who has helped us out with other events. Having him choose “Pack-a-Patrol Car” for his senior project was a really good fit for Devon and for our food drive,” said Sheriff Myers.
You can still donate by stopping by the Jay C Food Store in West Hill Shopping Center. Pre-packaged $6 grocery bags are available for anyone wanting to contribute to this year’s “Pack-a-Patrol Car.”
