JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced that work will begin on a traffic signal visibility improvement project at various intersections along State Road 135 in Johnson County starting today, Monday, November 18.
Seventeen different intersections will be upgraded to four-head signals with flashing yellow arrows, which allow drivers to turn left after yielding to both oncoming traffic and pedestrians.
Improvements are scheduled for S.R. 135 traffic lights at County Line, Fry, Fairview, Meridian Parke, Maine Street, Menard, Smith Valley, Target and Walmart, Olive Branch, Golfview and Demaree, Stones Crossing, Smokey Row, Whiteland, S.R. 144, S.R. 44, and S.R 252.
INDOT says that lane restrictions can be expected while signals are being updated, and motorists are asked to use caution while driving through construction areas. The project should be completed by April 1, 2020.
