BROWNSTOWN, Ind. – Seven weeks ago, on September 30, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in Medora in reference to a reported burglary. At the residence, they found that there had been a forced entry and a handgun had been stolen.
During the investigation, deputies obtained photographs of the alleged suspect and the suspect’s car. Then, on November 4, a vehicle was found matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle.
Last Friday, deputies obtained a search warrant to collect DNA from the registered owner of the car, Joseph Hacker, 33, of Brownstown. He was arrested the next day for burglary and theft and is currently awaiting his initial hearing on the charges.
