RIPLEY COUNTY, Ind. – On Wednesday, November 13, the Indiana State Police and Ripley County Sheriff’s Department investigated a two vehicle crash near Holton, Indiana that resulted in the death of a Columbus woman.
The initial investigation indicated that a car being driven by Marion Harding, 21, of Holton was traveling northbound on Michigan Road at US 50. Harding’s vehicle reportedly failed to yield to a car being driven by Craig Schneckenberger 62, of Columbus, as he was driving westbound on US 50. Harding’s car drove into the path of Schneckenberger, hitting the passenger side, and pushing both vehicles off the road before coming to a rest.
Harding, and a passenger in his car were both transported by air ambulance to the University of Cincinnati Hospital for treatment of injuries. Schneckenberger was airlifted to Indiana University Methodist Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. A front seat passenger in Schneckenber’s car, Sally Schneckenberger, 61, of Columbus was transported to King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison where she passed away as a result from injuries sustained in the accident.
Toxicology results on both drivers are pending at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
