COLUMBUS, Ind. – It has been over a week since election night, and the democrats took control of City Council in Columbus notching 4 of the 7 seats. However, the closest race on the night isn’t quite finished yet.
In the race for District 1, Dascal Bunch had lost to democrat Jerone Wood who edged, out a narrow 260-259 victory. All signs point to a recount when a race turns out this close and Bunch has mentioned previously that he has been considering calling for one, and he confirmed today through a phone call with Local News Digital that he is indeed signing the papers for a recount Friday afternoon.
The call for a recount is not surprising given the close turnout, but it will be made official once Bunch officially files for one on Friday.
