COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Fire Department (CFD) was called out for a second time, in less than 18 hours, on Friday afternoon. CFD responded to a residential fire on the east side of town at 22 S. Hinman St., around 5 p.m.
Heavy fire was pushing from the home when firefighters arrived. A rapid search and quick knockdown stopped the blaze from spreading.
No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
Earlier in the day, just after midnight Friday, CFD extinguished a fire on Greenbriar Drive on the northeast side of town, which resulted in a total loss of the home.
