COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Solid Waste Management District Board met Thursday morning and approved bid-letting for two projects.
One project is finding a landowner to sign a three-year contract for renting land to the district to use as a yard waste landfill. The other assignment is securing an operator for the district’s two convenience centers, at Petersville and Harrison Township.
Bids will be opened at the board’s November meeting.
In other business, education coordinator Jessica Norris reported that 336 students and 172 adults took part in district educational programs, such as landfill tours and classroom presentations, during the third quarter of 2019.
