COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Fire Department (CFD) has announced the hiring of Jordan Maley to the position of firefighter. Maley, 31, of Columbus, was sworn in by Mayor Jim Lienhoop at this week’s Columbus Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.
The 2007 graduate of Columbus East High School earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Murray State University. He is on the Columbus East football coaching staff.
The new recruit and his wife, Andrea, have a four-month-old son, Dawson. Jordan Maley is the son of Scott and Janet Maley, of Columbus. Lt. Scott Maley is a 25-year veteran of the Columbus Fire Department.
He will undergo a CFD training program before receiving a shift and station assignment.
