SEYMOUR, Ind. – Seymour Mayor Craig Luedeman asked Tuesday that Chief of Police Bill Abbot be placed on administrative leave. The announcement was made because of an ongoing Indiana State Police (ISP) investigation.
The full statement issued from Mayor Luedeman is recorded as, “Due to an ongoing Indiana State Police investigation, and at the request of the ISP investigators, I will recommend that action be taken by the Board of Public Works and Safety to place Chief of Police Bill Abbott, of the Seymour Police Department on administrative leave.”
Captain Carl Lamb with the Seymour Police Department was placed on paid administrative leave on October 8, as he faces allegations of ghost employment and official misconduct.
