COLUMBUS, Ind. – Authorities at the Columbus Police Department (CPD) say a local woman was arrested on drug possession charges after she was supposedly seen shoplifting at a Columbus store on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers were dispatched to the Walmart off Whitfield Drive around 4:50 p.m., in regards to a woman removing the price tags from items and putting the merchandise in her purse. CPD later identified her as Lacey Campbell, 32, of Columbus.
She allegedly tried to leave the store without paying. While confiscating the unpaid items, police say they also found methamphetamine and hydrocodone on her person.
