COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) arrested Jennifer Durbin, 34, of Edinburgh, after she was allegedly seen stealing from a Columbus store.
Officers were dispatched to the eastside Walmart on Sunday in regards to a woman reportedly burning price tags off of items and placing the goods in a bag. Police say she later tried to leave the store without paying for the merchandise but was stopped by store security and CPD.
After begin handcuffed, the suspect supposedly tried to kick at officers and strike them with her head. Durbin was eventually taken to the Bartholomew County Jail where she was remanded on preliminary charges of theft with a prior conviction and resisting law enforcement.
The stolen merchandise, valued at over $100, was returned to the store.
