LETTS, Ind. – Authorities at the Indiana State Police (ISP) are investigating the theft of a large tractor and two farm implements last Tuesday from southwest Decatur County. The stolen items were recovered but law enforcement is asking for the public’s help in locating the people responsible for the theft.
Troopers were called to County Roads 600S and 1000W in Decatur County, between Letts and Hartsville, at 9 a.m., after a Case 435 Quadtrac tractor and the attached farm implements were reported stolen from a field.
After receiving a tip on Wednesday, troopers found the tractor on County Road 420W in Decatur County. On Thursday, a state police helicopter spotted the pair of farm implements in rural Jennings County.
Investigators believe the suspect(s) may have had prior experience in operating similar equipment. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the ISP at 812-689-5000.
