COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Park Foundation President Chip Orben has announced that ColumBike is on its way out of Columbus. According to a statement, the foundation tried several different business models, but none could sustain the program. The ColumBike closure will become official on November 1. Here is the full statement released by Orben.
“With sadness we are announcing that effective November 1, 2019, the Columbus Park Foundation will cease operation of the ColumBike, B-Cycle bike-sharing program serving Columbus,” states Chip Orben, CPF President. “We had many very loyal riders, but it never reached enough rides to allow it to be sustainable. The Columbus Park Foundation would like to thank all of our generous sponsors and supporters who shared a vision for this amenity for our community. People may continue to use ColumBike for free through October 31, 2019.”
