COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) took two local residents into custody late last week after authorities say narcotics and drug paraphernalia were found inside their vehicle.
CPD made a traffic stop for a minor violation around 12:30 a.m. on Friday, near Fifth and North Mapleton Streets. While speaking with the driver, Timothy Stover, 18, of Columbus, officers say he showed signs of impairment.
A police canine was called to the scene and supposedly alerted to the smell of narcotics inside the vehicle. The car was searched and CPD allegedly found narcotics and drug paraphernalia inside.
Officers arrested Stover and one of his passengers, Kaleb Jones, 19, of Columbus, on multiple preliminary charges.
