COLUMBUS, Ind. – Thrive Alliance is partnering with the National Council on Aging (NCOA) and the Falls Free Initiative to celebrate Falls Prevention Awareness Day on Monday, September 23. Activities that day will focus on preventing older adults from falling and injuring themselves.
Mill Race Center is helping to support the event, which takes place on the plaza of the Bartholomew County Public Library, beginning at 10 a.m.
Falls are one of the leading causes of injury for people aged 65 and older, according to Thrive Alliance. The community event which includes activities such as a free balance and strength exercise class, information booths, health screenings, and education sessions.
