COLUMBUS, Ind. – A local man who was sleeping in a stolen vehicle was arrested by the Columbus Police Department (CPD) on Wednesday morning.
Officers responded to the 1000 block of Robert Drive in regards to a report of a suspicious person sleeping in a car, who was later identified as Anthony Mattox, 36, of Columbus. Police say they were able to determine that he had a felony warrant for his arrest from Shelby County and that the vehicle he was in had been stolen. While searching the vehicle, CPD allegedly found methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Mattox was placed under arrest and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of stolen property, possession of a syringe, possession of meth, and possession of marijuana.
