BROWNSTOWN, Ind. – In June, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reportedly gained information about two separate burglaries that occurred in rural Hamilton Township earlier this year.
After obtaining a warrant, deputies were able to search the area where they believed the stolen items had been taken to be stored. Law enforcement was able to use the warrant to find multiple stolen items from the supposed burglaries and all of the property was taken to the sheriff’s office to be processed.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office claims that about one month ago they received information from the Indiana State Laboratory about evidence collected at the scene of a burglary at Springhill Camp. It apparently showed the suspect as being Jonathan Godsey, 32, of Seymour.
On Wednesday, September 4, Sheriff Rick Meyer was patrolling Hamilton Township, saw Godsey driving in the area, and pulled him over. Godsey was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Jail on two charges of burglary and possession of the stolen property.
