COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Police Department (CPD) officers arrested Torrie Bryant, 31, of Columbus, on Tuesday morning after he reportedly stole a purse from a customer inside a fast-food restaurant. Around 8 a.m., police responded to the alleged theft at McDonald’s on National Road.
When they arrived, officers spoke with witnesses who stated that the suspect ran out of the restaurant with a customer’s purse. Three witnesses chased the suspect, however, they lost sight of him a short time later. CPD was able to locate him at a residence in the 3000 block of 15th Street where he was placed under arrest.
Bryant was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on a 48-hour hold and preliminarily charged with theft. The incident remains under investigation.
