JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. – In June, Jackson County deputies reportedly gained information about two separate burglaries that occurred in rural Hamilton Township earlier this year. They were told that Jonathan Godsey had committed both burglaries, and were shown where they happened.
After obtaining a warrant, deputies were able to search where they believed the stolen items were taken. Enforcement was able to use the warrant to find multiple stolen items from the burglaries and all of the property was taken back to the Sheriff’s office to be processed.
The Sheriff’s office claims that about one month ago, they received information from the Indiana State Laboratory with evidence collected at the scene of a burglary at Springhill Camp. The evidence collected showed a suspect of being Jonathan Godsey according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Then, on Wednesday, September 4, Sheriff Rick Meyer was patrolling the area of Hamilton Township and located Godsey driving in the area as well. After pulling him over, Godsey was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Jail on 2 charges of burglary, and possession of stolen property.
