COLUMBUS, Ind. – CPD officers arrested Torrie Bryant, 31, of Columbus on Tuesday morning after he reportedly stole a purse from a customer inside a McDonalds. Around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the reported theft at McDonalds on National Road. When they arrived, police spoke with witnesses who stated that the suspect, later identified as Bryant, ran out of the restaurant with a customer’s purse. Three witnesses chased the suspect, however, they lost sight of him a short time later.
Officers were reportedly able to locate Bryant at a residence in the 3000 block of 15th Street where he was placed under arrest. He was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail with a 48 hour hold on a preliminary charge of theft. The incident remains under investigation.
