COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Columbus woman was killed in a motor vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon near Edinburgh according to the Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office. The multi-vehicle crash at U.S. 31 and Eisenhower Drive was reported to the Bartholomew County Emergency Operations Center around 4:50 p.m.
The Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene of the accident, and Dorothy Wagner, 74, of Columbus was pronounced dead at the scene according to Coroner Clayton Nolting. Wagner was reportedly driving a Honda Civic that collided with another car that was stopped for a red traffic light. According to Nolting, the cause of death was massive blunt force trauma.
The crash is being investigated by the Edinburgh Police Department, with reconstruction being done by Indiana State Police.
