BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. – In a social media post on Wednesday, Bartholomew County Sheriff Matt Myers spoke about a resident who reported a scam.
According to Myers, the resident received a phone call saying he failed to report for jury duty, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The caller then asked for personal information which is something that court officers would never do. Myers says court officers do not ask for confidential information or money over the phone.
If you are faced with a similar call, the best thing to do is hang up the phone, and report it to law enforcement.
