COLUMBUS, Ind. – On Wednesday morning, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies were called to an accident in the 3700 block of E State Street around 5:30 a.m. When they arrived, deputies say that Ronald Jones, 59, of Columbus, had allegedly been walking on the roadway when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by Roger Kretzer, 61, of Columbus.
Jones was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital where his current condition is unknown, and Kretzer was released from the scene. Deputies are currently investigating the accident.
