BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. – In a social media post Wednesday, Bartholomew County Sheriff Matt Myers spoke about a resident who reported a scam.
According to Myers the resident received a phone call saying he failed to report for jury duty, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The caller then asked for personal information which is something that court officers would never do. According to Myers all court officers do not ask for confidential information, or money over the phone.
If more residents are faced with similar calls, the best thing to do is hang up the phone, and report the call.
