INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indianapolis Department of Transportation (INDOT) is reporting that due to periods of heavy rainfall slowing construction, northbound and eastbound lanes on Interstate 465, between I-65 and I-70, will remain closed on the southeast side of Indianapolis until Monday, August 26.
The first phase of the project was estimated to be completed by this Saturday, but INDOT has extended the closure to allow contractors to finish repairs and improvements after being hampered by weather. Construction started on August 9.
Phase two of the project is scheduled to start on Friday, September 6, and last until September 21.
