FRANKLIN, Ind. – Deputies with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office responded on Thursday to a call about a missing person identified as Timothy Crabtree. When they arrived at Crabtree’s residence, they spoke with Crabtree’s cousin, Trace Mabry.
According to the sheriff’s office, Mabry told them that when he arrived at the house he found Crabtree’s truck in the driveway, the garage door open, and the house unlocked. Mabry also shared with law enforcement that his cousin never showed up for a commitment the night before.
After searching the area, deputies came across a coffee can and a paint can in a nearby pond. Officers say that Mabry relayed to them that Crabtree usually kept those items on the back of his four-wheeler. Deputies then found four-wheel vehicle tracks in the yard leading directly into the pond where they had found the coffee and paint cans.
A dive team was called to the scene and after recovering the four-wheeler, the divers found Crabtree who was reported deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
