COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Parks and Recreation Board met Thursday afternoon and board member Julie Abedian invited the rest of the board to learn more about WELL Building standards and how they might be applied to the development of the Fair Oaks property. Abedian’s professional position is Vice President of Community Partnerships and Corporate Responsibility at Columbus Regional Hospital (CRH), one of the shareholders in the Fair Oaks Community Development Corporation.
The WELL Building standards, which are being applied by CRH, are a body of standards focused on air, water, nourishment, light, fitness comfort, and mind that were developed by the International WELL Building Institute.
Abedian offered to have a facilities specialist from the hospital brief the parks board on the standards and has also spoken to MKSK, the Fair Oaks design consultant. The parks board expressed interest in such a presentation.
