COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Fair Oaks Community Development Corporation held the second of four public input meetings at the mall on Tuesday evening. Representatives from MKSK, the architecture firm hired to develop a master plan for the Fair Oaks Mall property and Donner Park, were present and talked about the possibilities that are being considered. The focus of the session was on analysis and opportunities.
Suggestions for Fair Oaks Mall that MSKS has received from the public include a dog park, downtown-style shopping, space for a farmer’s market, a hotel supporting tournaments held at Lincoln Park, a theater and music performance area, and green space.
Regarding Donner Center, the feedback to date indicates that residents would like to see it continue to be home to an outdoor pool, but for it also to become a year-round indoor aquatics facility. Other ideas for Donner that have been mentioned are a teen center and community gardens.
The third public input meeting takes place on Tuesday, October 8, and will focus on strategies and recommendations.
