COLUMBUS, Ind. – As students have returned to school, deputies of the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) have been cracking down on drivers who commit violations in school zones, or around school buses.
From August 7 to 9, deputies patrolled before, during, and after school hours and rode aboard five school buses. They also conducted 28 school patrols and made 16 traffic stops that ranged from school bus stop arm violations to speeding.
“We had deputies riding school buses and following school buses looking for violations,” said Bartholomew County Sheriff Matt Myers. “BCSO will continue to make traffic enforcement and visibility a priority throughout the school year.”
