HOPE, Ind. – Bartholomew County Sheriff Office deputy Andrew Dougan, along with assistance from the Hope Police Department, arrested a Bartholomew County man after a traffic stop on Sunday. The deputy recognized the man driving as someone with a warrant out for his arrest, so he pulled the driver over.
During the stop, officers confirmed that the operator was Joshua Lucas, 26, of Hope. During questioning, law enforcement allegedly located suspected methamphetamine and heroin in the vehicle.
In addition to being booked for the outstanding warrant, Lucas now faces new preliminary charges of possession of heroin and possession of meth. The suspect is being held in the Bartholomew County Jail.
