INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is closing the southeast side of Interstate 465, between I-65 and I-70, for two separate 15-day stretches in August and September.
INDOT says the first maintenance closure, effecting eastbound and northbound lanes, starts on Friday, August 9, and runs through August 24. Construction will pick back up again after Labor Day, this time for southbound and westbound lanes. They will be closed from September 6 through September 21. All lanes of the interstate will be open during the actual Labor Day holiday weekend.
The road closures are part of a statewide, $150 million plan to repair winter damage, and improve pavement conditions around Indiana. During the closures, INDOT reminds drivers to plan alternate routes and to leave early.
