INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says Milestone Contractors will begin a $4.1 million asphalt resurfacing project on a 14-mile section of State Road 7, in Jennings and Bartholomew Counties, this Monday, August 5.
Crews will be working from the north junction of State Road 3 and the U.S. 50 bypass, in Jennings County, to U.S. 31, in Bartholomew County.
The maintenance project will begin with nighttime patching operations, followed by milling and paving with all improvements taking place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., so that major traffic disruptions can be avoided during the day. Most work will take place on weeknights and early mornings, with a possibility of some weekend construction.
INDOT advises drivers to be aware of lane closures along the route and to proceed cautiously through the work zone. Weather permitting, the completion date for the project is November 15.
