FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a charge of disorderly conduct against David Moore, a Trafalgar Town Council member. The charges stem from a conflict he was involved in following a town council meeting last January 16.
During the meeting, Moore and fellow councilperson Jeff Eisenmenger were involved in exchanging verbal barbs. After the session, Moore reportedly approached Eisenmenger, grabbed him by the collar and shoved him into a nearby wall. The incident was quickly broken up by Trafalgar police officers.
Paperwork of the incident was initially sent in by the Trafalgar Police Department, but the prosecutor’s office requested an independent investigation by an outside agency to avoid conflict of interest. “The interests of justice demand that facts and evidence be submitted by a neutral third party,” said acting Prosecutor Joe Villanueva. The Indiana State Police performed an independent investigation and forwarded their findings last week.
Moore lost his seat on the council in the hotly May primary election, and will no longer be a council member after December 31.
