NORTH VERNON, Ind. – City officials in North Vernon says they have received word from the project team that the Tripton Park Grand Opening Celebration scheduled for this weekend will need to be postponed until further notice. It was the aim of everyone involved to meet the August 3 date as planned, but it is just not going to happen.
Currently, the project stands at 65% complete with crews working diligently to gain traction on the days where the ground is dry and are able to work. Chad Speer, North Vernon Parks and Recreation Director, says that most amenities should be completed this fall, but no new date for the grand opening has been set.
